Sat Nav on Phones
Has an app been invented that allows you to use custom itineraties on an Android device like you can with a TomTom rider yet?
My TomTom Rider 2 is creaking away but It's not going to last much longer and I don't really fancy shelling out £300 on a new one. Chz |
Re: Sat Nav on Phones
I don't like iPhones but you can get TomTom software to run on iPhone as a native navigation. Practically the same as a specific sat-nav unit. My daughter has it on her iPhone with lifetime map updates, works really well and is why she sticks with iPhone.
So if your phone is due an upgrade might be worth looking at? EDIT: Just discovered that since April this year there is a TomTom app for Android. Available in the Play-store |

Re: Sat Nav on Phones
Yes.
I used this procedure to copy the March Meat run, which was created in Google maps, then converted and run in Co Pilot. The trickiest part was finding the folder Co Pilot stores the routes in http://asphaltsea.org/co-pilot-for-a...port-procedure If you use Tyre for route planing then it should be easier to import the route into Tom Tom? Might also depend which folder Tom Tom stores routes? Co Pilot was free without voice prompts, but I paid for the voice prompts and European mapping. I've installed Co Pilot on my 10in Samsung Galaxy tablet, as its got GPS! |
Re: Sat Nav on Phones
TomTom on Android does not support itn files...............as far as I know.
I used to use Co-Pilot then they introduced some stupid online license check every time you start it up making it useless when out in the middle of nowhere with no signal, or abroad but I'll give it a second look. |
Re: Sat Nav on Phones
That Route Converter tool will convert into many different route formats, so you'll probably find one that works with Tom Tom.
Co Pilot is annoying, as when it updates it forget the licence, but then I go into settings & it reinstalls the licence code. Can't remember the exact procedure. I don't have that issue with Co Pilot and never have done |
Re: Sat Nav on Phones
