Shock linkage question

Hi all, I need to replace the shock linkage, as when I took it off the front bearing had disintegrated and no matter how bigger fine adjustment tool I use it's not budging. I've been on eBay but 90% of what's out there is for the curvy and I have a pointy. Does anyone know if the curvy part will fit a pointy? Cheers

Re: Shock linkage question

Have you tried warming the linkage before trying to remove whats left of the bearing, i seem to remember bashing mine to bits before removing the remnants. It will come out.

I would take the likage to my nearest motorcycle garage and get them to remove it, if i was in your situation.

I have a feeling they are different, hopefully someone will know for certain.

Can't you access some internet site that has a parts fiche, and see if they are the same part number, look at the diagrams to see if they look the same? I could, but I'm lazy...

Re: Shock linkage question

the curvy linkage will not fit the pointy. the linkage bearings are double sealed and i would recommend OEM. try suzuki bike of the month and double check part #.

the single front and rear bearings can be drifted out using a vice and sockets but the centre ones require heat and a lot of swearing.

dont rely on ebay for a new one as the one you get will more than likely be fubar as well.
