Back ache help!
evening guy and gals,
I'm getting a back ache quite soon after getting on the bike, would a riser kit work and combat this? or am i better off looking at alternative bikes? or anyone got any other solutions? Many thanks! |
Re: Back ache help!
Sort out your posture on the bike first.
Take your upper weight on your hips. Not your shoulders/wrists. A concave profile really does help my lower back |
Re: Back ache help!
Its all in the core! Is it faired or a naked?
|
Re: Back ache help!
It's the faired version mate
When I ride my mates r6 don't suffer at all but then I do on the zx9r |
Re: Back ache help!
I suffer with my back and can't ride bikes with clip on bars. I have a naked sv with 5 inch rise on bars and it's a breeze to ride.

Re: Back ache help!
I went from a YBR 125 to a SV650S and the first week or 2 was agony, honestly thought I was going to have to get rid of it and find something else but after that once I'd gotten used to the new riding position and how to hold myself I get no aches or pains even after 5 hours straight riding.
It's all about finding what works for you, there's a thread on here somewhere where Bibio IIRC gives some good advice on how to position yourself which helped me a lot. |
Re: Back ache help!
I've been riding it now since oct but seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I had a supermoto before and no problems at all

Re: Back ache help!
I've a CNC top yoke conversion on mine with renthal bars (comes with longer Hel brake lines and throttle cables) and its improved things no end.
Much more upright and comfortable and similar to my FZ1, so doesn't feel so weird jumping between bikes. |
Re: Back ache help!
Different areas of the site of the pain have different solutions.
So its anyone s guess how to address this. |
Re: Back ache help!
Do you ride with a back protector and have your belt tight like it should be?
