NEw Ignition system needed??

I have quite an interesting problem. Yesterday I discovered I could unlock the steering lock, switch the ignition on and take the key out of the bike. New Ignition system needed maybe? I am sure the key is meant to be locked into the bike with the ignition on. 06 (K6) SV650S
