Question about swapping to rentals handlebars
 
Hi all,
about to swap stock handlebars to streetfighter ones but 2 little things just made me stop from fitting..Teally dont know what is the purposse,reason.See pictures pls. Does it mean i have to drill couple holes to handlebar to fit it in? What is it for? Many thanks

Hi, I would imagine the lugs are to locate the switch gear into the correct position and to prevent sliding/spinning when clamped to the bars. As for drilling locating holes not sure sorry.

Correct.

Two options, drill a hole to locate the this lug

File the lug off & wrap tape round the bar to stop the switch gear twisting round the bar, important on the throttle side.

I'd opt to drill the bar, just make sure you drill the hole in the right place. Measure twice, cut (drill) once :-) :mrgreen: [-o<

I did this when I changed to my Variobars
