Plate size😕

I know im going to get told off here but here goes- my 9 x 7 plate is peeling so what is the current thinking? 7 x 5? 8 x 6? Or legal 9 x 7 billboard?

I've run an 8x6 for the last 11k miles with no issues, it's just small enough to fit on my tail tidy and not cover my smaller LED indicators but still looks much tidier than a 9x7.

Either size will be good mate as far as I'm aware 7x5 is the smallest you can go legally without getting pulled by the police I've always ran 7x5 on all my bikes, but you need a 9x5 for MOT

Just to be a picky pain in the **** there's actually no legal set plate size. It all depends on the length of your reg number and whether you can fit it on the plate while still sticking to the correct character size, spacing and border measurements.

If I had a registration number of "1" I could legally fit that on a tiny plate and it would pass MOT no problem.

I've got a 7x5 plate and have been pulled a few times in London for being 'naughty' but the plate has never been mentioned - no problems with MOT either, you'll be fine.

i use 9x7 but i also have the snow plough still there. behind the 9x7 is a scotoiler touring rez that i only need to fill once a year. my bike looks OEM but is far from it. the more bling bling you make a bike the more the magpies want it.

the last thing i want is to be pulled while out and about on my day off for something silly like a small number plate.

Just go all out and get a 6x4 and mount it by the rear shock
