Considering Selling...
Hi All. I'm seriously considering selling my SV but I'm not entirely sure what its worth now with all the mods I've made.
I'm hoping a few of you on here can help me out with a rough price guide :) First I'll list all the mods... 2000 SV650s Ducati Metallic Blue + White Stripes Naked conversion (7" Round Headlight) Koso DL-03SR Black Gauge + GPS Speed Sensor Complete GSXR 750 SRAD Front End Ducati Monster 696 Seat + Cowl Custom Subframe + Undertray Bandit 1200 Rear Wheel (no pics of the bike with this yet) Pro-Race Exhaust Systems GP4 Cone Custom Exhaust Baffle R6 Throttle Tube + Grips LED Tail Light LED Indicators Adjustable CNC Short Levers Bar End Mirrors I've spent just shy of £1400 to get it to where it is, this doesn't include the purchase of the bike or the MANY man hours I've put into this build! I really love this bike, its rides and sounds awesome :) Its got 37k on the clock but you would never know. Its been well maintained and pulls as smooth as ya like. I'll be sad to see it go but i need to fund the next project :) And now some pics... http://i.imgur.com/Re4hXRPh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UXl4GKSh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6k5fKzRh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/EICtXXDh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NVhw46nh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2QTiFyzh.jpg So... What ya think its worth?! |
Re: Considering Selling...
Unfortunately no where near what you hope or what would reflect the time and money you've put into it...unless you find someone who falls in love with it.

Re: Considering Selling...
It's an absolute beauty, and no mistake. I can't help with any prices though, sorry.

Re: Considering Selling...
If I were looking to buy an SV and do those mods to it I would pay you 2000 for it. MAYBE 2200.

Re: Considering Selling...
Can't help with a price mate but I love the look of it, she's a beauty

Re: Considering Selling...
The problem with modifying any bike is that you make it quite a personal thing and has been said you're unlikely to get back what you invest in it. Your best bet would be to take it to a biker meet somewhere (sorry, no idea what the local ones in your area) and stick a for sale sign on it. Biker meets tend to attract enthusiasts and one of them is bound to fall in love with it and give you a better price that an advert would attract. Unfortunately you've left it a bit late in the year.......

Re: Considering Selling...
It's gorgeous, however in the light of day is still a 16 year old SV, with 37,000 miles.
I would only do something like you did if I was keeping it. Reality is you are looking at making a lose if you sell it. Wish you every luck with it's sell - good luck finding that person who will snap your arm off. Don't forget to post up the next project - even if it's not an SV. |
Re: Considering Selling...
Thanks for all the comments guys.
I totally agree, there's no way I'll get back what I've put into the build, and I never thought i might. Just thought it best to list everything so you guys have all the info to help give an rough price. I was thinking around the £1600 mark. How does that sound to people? £2000 might be possible but i think id be waiting a looooooooooong time for that right person to come along!! |
Re: Considering Selling...
It will go in a heartbeat at £1600. I'd start higher.

Re: Considering Selling...
I love this bike so much, what has it got for rear suspension?
I also agree with Blapper start at 2k at least, there are standard Curvys for sale at £1600! This is worth more. |
