New A2 rider

Hi,

I'm going to be taking my a2 test on Wednesday, afterwards I'm going to be buying an sv650s.

I've had a 125 for nearly 2 years and I sold it when I passed my car test last month. Just wondering if I should be looking out for anything specific sv650's.

Such as common mechanical issues etc.

Cheers!

(I'm looking for a fully faired one with relatively low miles <20000 (Preferably black))

Hi RowanSimps,

Good choice. You don't say what your budget is of whether you are looking for a curvy or pointy?

I would say get one that is in great condition, hasn't been 'improved' by its P.O. and has good service history. That advice holds good for any year of SV. If you haven't ridden a faired SV (clip-ons), you may find it uncomfortable. I certainly did and changed it to conventional bars.

Hey,

I've got a budget of about 3000, I've found these and may go and view them, what do you think? :)

I'm relatively short at 5.11/6ft so I don't feel as though I'll find the bike position uncomfortable

Interesting that both linked bikes have HID lights. I thought that was an MOT failure on a vehicle without them fitted as standard. I think the white one is overpriced and I would steer clear of non standard paintwork.

No idea how it was applied, but it's not a factory colour. And the tank decals are missing as well.

Hello, Welcome.
I personally wouldn't buy one that is stickered. Just like the white one. Sticker bombing now that's different altogether.
Blue one looks much more unmolested.
Plus it's newer with less miles, more reasonable priced and hasn't been dropped/crashed and re sprayed.

Happy hunting.

Hello

Agree with the others, the blue is the better of the 2

Agree with all the above, I always look for as near to factory spec as I can when buying cars or bikes.
I don't agree with you being relatively short however! 5' 11"! That tall by my 5' 7" standards

Yeah he said it was 'limited edition suzuki colour'...

Gonna go with the blue one, Seems a much better deal.

Thank you everyone!
