Calipers

Hi guys, couple of questions regarding calipers.

1) anyone used Deox concentrate to get rid of surface rust on the bobbins? I saw a you tube video which gave fantastic results.
2) I know you are supposed to use new calipers bolts, but do people do that? What about giving them a clean and applying blue threadlock, then torqued up?

Thanks

2) I've never had an issue not replacing them. If you're taking them off frequently maybe review that but once in a blue moon I believe fine.

Cheers Dave, it’s an old bike I have just bought. Plenty of thickness just a bit unsightly and wanted to clean them up. I will also be checking for any warp with a DTI

You can leave them in some old brake fluid. Then the rust/corrosion comes off pretty easy with a wire brush.

HTH :)
