Effing Google maps
 

Planned out a route on Google maps, saved it as a link in a document, opened it from the link and now I want to change the route. It won't let me. When I click and drag the existing route it just drags the whole poxy map. Tried it in Avast browser, Edge, Chrome, and Firefox as well as the google maps app in Win 10.

I've even tried shouting and swearing at it and that didn't work either.

Someone save me before I do the sensible thing and go back to pen, paper, and a real map!

Google maps sucks for saving a planned route. I usually just write down towns and road numbers

Does Tyre still work? I used to use it for planned routes I'd import to my TomTom but not done if for ages now.

Never used it Trev so I'm not familiar with it.
I don't want it to use with a satnav or anything. I'm just using it to plan routes for the tours I'm leading and it's useful for getting an overview of the whole route and the overall distances.

Google maps can be a bit hit and miss with saving routes. It will often change your route on the fly depending on time of day and traffic etc. There's a good youtube video about making sure your route stays on the roads you want instead of Google changing it to faster roads etc for you... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aniJ-j3MU4E&t=930s

Are you using "Google Maps" or "Google My Maps" ?

yup google maps are a PITA.

yes TYRE still works but you need a developers key which is a PITA.
