Speedometer giving wrong reading

Hi folks.
Had no Speedo for a number of months. Got a new speed rotor/magnet yesterday and installed it. Confirmed via Suzuki part number that it's the correct part for my 05 sv650s. I've checked the magnet after my first trip and it's still in tact which is good. I'm riding maybe 100kph and Speedo is reading say 60kph. Any idea whats going on? Thanks

i would say wrong part. you could have an 8 pulse pickup with a 4 pulse magnet. IIR the K5 are a nightmare for this.

there are two instrument cluster face colours. black/white rev face and white rev face. the black/white rev face are the earlier and use magnet #34983-21E00. the white face rev counter use magnet #34983-27G00.
