Was this on the bus?

 When I see headlines like this I suspect a distraction (from food and driver shortages perhaps?). I wonder if pounds/shillings/and pence are next, I want my pension paid in guineas. :) I am aware that, despite the headlines, it's an optional thing. On the other hand, I'm sure a lot of pensioners will be happy (until they see the triple-lock fudge) and they may be the target audience. Finally, a quote from our Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport: "Dominic Cummings isn't as clever as he doesn't think he is." Nadine Dorries 27 May 2021 My head hurts. |
Re: Was this on the bus?
I don't see the point in it. Everything is now set up as it is to work in metric.
I thought Brexit was meant to be about growth & progression - showing the EU was holding us back. Not going back to what Britain was 60+ years ago. Or was that the underlying plan? Blue passports, imperial measurements, food shortages & tax rises? Seeing as Guy Fawkes night is coming, can someone re-enact his plan . . . . |

IIR there was a sweet shop in Newtonmore, Scotland that won a court case to sell sweets in the old imperial weights. |
Re: Was this on the bus?
Nobody under 50 will remember lbs and ounces or £ s d anyway... most shop assistants cannot even work out change in decimal currency if the till not working or you offer extra to save getting a pocket full of shrapnel. When we go proper cashless it will be relief for youngsters.
