Triumph Daytona 660
Not a class of bike I'm interested in but I think it looks good. Prior to launch I read a lot of critical comments about its predicted 80 hp - (same as Trident). On launch it actually has 94hp and they're still complaining.
I started paying attention to comments in the many sites I visit and it's hard to find positive comments on anything. So, Triumph - I think your new bike looks great, especially in the deep red colour and at £8600 it should sell well. https://www.rideapart.com/news/70370...ona-660-specs/ |

That's a nice looking bike, I like that. It looks a little more practical than the 675 Daytona of a few years back. Mind you, that was a gorgeous little bike too!

Re: Triumph Daytona 660
I think the problem is they're comparing it to the previous Daytona which was a premium priced bike. It's clearly more designed to compete with the Yamaha R7 and the Suzuki GS8S. None of these are trackday weapons and not meant to be. They're a usable sports bike that will give 80% of the frills of more expensive supersports at a much reduced cost. They all remind me of a modern day SV650S.

Agree on the looks, but it's also not my cup of tea. At that price though it's a steal so hope it does well.
I'm still toying with the idea of getting a Tiger Sport 660 so hope this platform does well. |
