What to do with £500..?

Right.. I've got some money next month and I was thinking of spending it on my bike. Now I was looking at a swing arm.. from JMC.. something like this:

It would work out as about 420 quid.

Now do I do this.. or do I spend the money else where...
Polished wheels, Powder coated swing arm, new undertray (old one don't fit very well). SVR front mudguard...
Or a nice new rear spring.... (Ohlins, White Power?)
Wavy brake discs all round (£350, leaves me a little change)
Simple spay job?

So many choices.. what should I do...

so what does the swingarm do for ya? is it just cosmetic? or does it improve the handling?

bit of both really it lets folk know you got 500 quid to throw about and it helps alleviate sideways stress during conering

For 500 if you do the fitting you could be doing front and rear suspension.

There is no other mod that will make the same improvement in your bikes performance

Well I've got the progressive springs in the front with the 15w oil.. so It's just deciding what to do with the rest..

Oh and the swing arm looks nice.. cus I'm a bit fickle like that..

What would I do with £500 :?: I think I'd send it to a charity... Namely, the Cloggsy's Motorcycle new & used spares fund

We accept Cheques, PayPal & of course Cash

A smarty pants swingarm isn't going to improve the handling of an SV, as it stands at the moment chassis/swingarm stiffness isn't a weak spot, unsurprisingly the suspension is, particularly the front.
It would undoubtedly look very smart, but in reality, unless you wish to do something specific such as lengthen the wheelbase or radically alter the height of the bike, you'll be looking to buy a swingarm that has the same, or at least very similar, geometry to the standard one, in which case there will not be any benefit.
If you really feel your bike is lacking, spend the money on supension, for £500 you could get a nice rear shock, but doing just that highlights the (relatively) poor front end, so buy some springs and new oil there at least.

Or best of all spend £500 on petrol, get out and ride it. :D
