REAR SEAT BACKREST????

:?: Hello to everyone,
I've been having NO success on trying to locate anyone who can make a backrest for the rear seat on my 2000 sv650. Corbin was even non helpful and with an attitude as well about the subject. I need to locate one if anyone out there knows where I can get one. My wife loves to ride but had a heirniated disc about a year ago. Now that she is better, she wants to ride more often but needs a little comfort while doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all and I'm looking forward to starting new forums everyone , since I'm new to the site.

Welcome 8)

Yesterday we had another new member join (racinghonda), who posted some pics of his bike in this thread - ttp://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=13799&postdays=0&postorder=asc&sta rt=15

The rack is for luggage, and as such is a bit far back. but im wondering if you get no joy elsewhere whether you could modify it to make it useful.

Just a thought

Hello and welcome.

You are going to struggle friend. I don't reckon that is a popular request. Could try a custom buider to see if they will knock something up. Can't imagine it will be cheap though.

I agree with Scoobs, I don't think you are going to find a pre manufactured one. I think your best bet is to find someone that will make you one

Not a back rest I know, but would love handles help? :?

Oh, welcome to the site BTW :D

Get a GiVi monorack and topcase with a back pad. That's the closest you're gonna find.

You can get a decent set up for under $300.

Yep, that's the way to go. Have a look at the pannier rack with top plate as you have a little more room for front to back adjustment (this may mean drilling your own holes but no too much of a problem).

You may find that with the wife leaning back onto the top box pad your front wheel will be climbing for the sky if you set off from the lights quickly, but that could be considered as a bonus :D
