shock swop

hello everyone, does anyone know if a rear shock out of a k1 gsxr600 will fit into my k1 sv650s, and would uprated springs be enough to sort out the front? thanks

uprated springs and oil for the front will be fine and no idea on the shock i found it to much hassle tbh

I know the K3 GSXR1000 shock fits with minimum fuss, dunno about the gixxer 6's though :?

It'll be very short, from what I managed to get together... So it'd probably need shorter dogbones to compensate. Shorter travel as well. Busa, 636 or SRAD seems to be the way to go for the original bike.

the 636 is very stiff and needs the battery completely repositioning due to the reservoir, theres loads of different gsxr shocks so can be hit and miss getting the right one unless you know exactly what you are getting..no idea about the busa one

as a side note i have a gsxr shock lying about here good condition it will definitely need new dogbones as it drops the rear way to much (i snapped 3 number plates when it was fitted) cant be to bothered messing with post and package but if anyone one local wants to come for it theyre welcome to it

Aye, but all of the SRADs had the same shock, or at leat the 96-00 600 and 96-99 750 did...

Busa shock means relocating the battery too... But! All you do is remove the fusebox, put the battery where the fuses would usually be and put the fuses under, along with some foam. Seen pics like this and it works a charm...

yes it will

i have one but dont use one with underseat conversions the shock is slightly softer and will smash your hugger if you have one
