calling k2 and k3 owners

I've had a nasty 2 days. no time now but i have got to fit a gear lever. bloke from daytona looks on his fiche and asssures me that part no. 25600-17G00 is the gear lever for the K3. But ronayers.com fiche gives the part no. as 25600-33E00. daytona say this is infact the part no. for the K2 lever!

the attachment point for the gear rod is on the outside of the lever currently on my bike while the attachment point is on the inside face of part 25600-17G00 i have from daytona.

Can K2 an K3 owners have a quick peek at their bike and note whether the gear rod is attached on the inside or outside face of their gear lever.

Can't remember for the life of me and I can't go and check...

BUT I do have a set of OEM footpegs in the garage so went & took a picture of the gearshift side so you can see exactly how it should go!!

ok mystery solved. he's sold me the k4 part. but that still leaves me with the mystery of why my gear rod is attached outside.

The gearshift and brake pedals on the K4 are different to those found on the K3...

...Hold up, I'll find a pic of the K4 gearshift I saw earlier!

The gearshift on the K4 is on the inside so won't fin on a K3!!

See the pic here courtesy of Tich's For Sale advert!! :D

I'm thinking the rod would just run a little diagonal...

Dude (Curium). Tim's round my place at the moment. I'm having his gear lever coz mine's bent but the rod is yours!!! Tim can post it tomorrow first class so that saves you a train journey if you don't mind paying postage. Result I reckon. 8)

OK now i'm thinking of drilling through the stub that's left where the rubber rest part of the gear lever was but i dunno what i can bung in there that will hold for the 100 miles i'll do before the correct part number turns up.

Anyone any experience here?

Who's tim and why does he no longer need his gear lever? Hope he's still in 1 piece.

Will the K4 lever i have work if it has a K4 rod? Have you removed yours yet? Its looks like a **** of a job so any pearls would be welcome.

Since I have the lever all ready, the rod would be nice.

I'll PM you details.
