REV LIMIT does anyone know why?

Does anyone know why my bike does 1500rpm more than it should cos i have tried a different cdi and clocks and it makes no difference.

It's a race bike now

The tachos over-read. They're notorious for it.

Either try a different set of clocks and if it still reads the same have a close look at the wiring loom for any extras that the previous owner might have added.

Alternatively take it back to Gary at SDC and get him to fix it :D

Even better, send a message to 'SV650Racer' or 'Itching to go' on this forum and see if they have any ideas.

The previous poster was correct. The tach overreads. You can put it on a dyno to confirm. For racing, I use a shift light from www.raptor.com which gives an accurate indicator.

I ride a sv1k, it reads red line at 12000 or 11000. Truth is that on a dyno run, it only shows 10200
