Full Throttle?!
 

Possibly the most untechnical explanation ever coming up...

Has anyone tried the throttle adjusters that suzuki do which reduce the amount of 'twist' to go from idle to full throttle?

I'm a fairly tall fella with long arms but when i try and give it full throttle i find that my elbow is ending up somewhere down by the crash bungs!! Its entirely plausible that my technique is pants but short of continually adjusting how my hand sits on the throttle i see no other way to do it.

I just adjust my grip on the throttle.
Apparently the throttle slider from an r6 will go straight on and do what you seem to want, though. About £15 from a Yam dealer, if memory serves.

Doesn't JHS have something like that called a 1/2 or 1/4 turn throttle?

I paid $9 US for one. It is a straight bolt on for the 1st gens and requires some modification for the 2nds... Here is a how to write up I did when I installed mine.

Not sure about JHS, but the stock part is 1/4 IIRC, the yam one is 1/5 as is the quick action cam thing. IIRC it's only the 03-04 R6 bit that you can use.

I was thinking of trying one after I saw a brief mention of them in BIKE magazine. They seemed to think they were fairly effective.

A badly healed break in my hand means that on longer motorway journeys it can start to ache a fair bit maitaining a more open throttle. If you get one let me know how it goes, (I'm bordering on having spend my 'allowance' on the bike this year). :)

1/5 Throttle turn up...

I got one of these free with my scottoiler, they're a bloody menace.
I tended to forget it was there, then when I adjust my grip on the throttle for comfort the throttle gets turned quite a bit.
I had to take it off, I just forgot about it too often and my underwear was suffering.

I used the Scottoiler one for a little while and foud the same... Especially clumsy for low speed maneuvering. I'll probably use it if I go touring next year though...
