sticking clutch

clutch

got a problem - when i release the clutch - the lever returns to its normal position - but i dont get any movement for a few seconds and it slowly rolls on.

kinda like the plates are taking their time (slipping) before they engage the gear and move the bike.

how can i cure this ? does it have something to do with the oil ?

mmm, have you checked the clutch cable?? this would be the first thing to look at as its cheap to replace, and can cause many a problem. I got annoyed before, then i found the cable had never been oiled and was hard to let the clutch off, for the bike to move.

Maybe some other guys here have more mechanical experiance....

Dunno I ride a Suzuki and have never had a problem like that. Like the man sez check the cable, check the linkage and the return spring if it has one.
Best buy a Haynes for your bike and check the whole clutch over from the simple and obvious to the complicated.

If the bike has been standing for a bit the clutch plates could have dried out. Usually this disappears after a few hundred miles on it's own...
