Hein Gericke warranty

Can anyone tell me what they're like about this?

Between Christmas & New Year I broke the zip of my leather trousers, at this stage they were still in warranty :D . Of course I didn't know that and by the time I brought them back (yesterday) they were 7 days out! :(
They're calling headoffice to find out about charging or not, anyone know if they're likely to charge and if so, how much I should pay to have a zip replaced?

And no, it wasn't due to too much Christmas pud, they weren't even on at the time!

Just noticed the zip on my HG trousers has come away. Got them for the end of year rideout to Brighton, so they are only a few months old. I live in Portsmouth, but brought them from Southampton. HG have just opened a shop in Portsmouth. Will I be able to go through the Portsmouth branch to get them sorted?

I would think they'll charge you, dunno how much but try a dry cleaner who does alterations may be cheaper, after all a zips a zip wether it be on trousers or leathers....

Cost me a tenner to get a new zip done at local alteration type shop.

My local leather lady charges about £10 for new zip

I found them more than OK when the stiching on my keks came undone.

Still within warranty, though.

Dunno about HG, but most chain stores will let you change stuff bought at one store at another, so long as you have the receipt.

A mate of mine who worked in Virgin said they even exchanged NTSC things people had bought in foreign stores!

When you say out of warrenty what do you mean? How long is this warrenty? As I know the the law states you have 2 years faults with the place you bought the item from, so you should be able to get it fixed for nothing. Or replaced, I'll have check my legal book when I get home.

Cheers but don't bother, their warranty is 2yrs anyway & it turned out when I checked that I'd bought them on New Years Eve, 2 years ago. Had I known & got them in straight away, they would have been days inside the warranty.
