Knox Aeor bag - Sent back
Hi All,
Just a word from the wise (I'm sure you all are). Sending my Knox Aero bag back to Knox today, as it's stitching has come undone from the top by the handle. The stuff I had inside has been soaked, even though I wasn' on the "Blue Cow". However, this is where my "Hoarding" comes in handy. They would only replace it, if I had the receipt. Which I have  I asked about the contents of my bag mainly my boots, which are wrecked, and they didn't say owt  May write them a letter and see what happens, as it's clear that its a manufacturing fault with the bag, rather than a wrip in the cloth. What de ye think? |

However, it is one of last years Aeros - the new ones have a clam-shell try design. Not sure if this would make any difference. I'm not aware that they are advertised as being waterproof - mine certainly isn't and I didn't expect it to be for £30. I keep everything inside polythene bags inside it. |
Mine did the same
It was actually the material that ripped rather than stitching, but it was definitely between the shoulder straps. Can't send it back as it was a free gift with my subscription to Ride mag  Apart from that it's a good rucksack, very comfy and stable on the bike |
Mine has small rips underneath the shoulder straps but this is because I put a bizarre amount of shopping in it several times that weighed almost as much as the SV, so I put that down to me. As for being waterproof, I've had mine in very wet conditions and it's never leaked yet even though it's not officially waterproof.
Would I buy another one? Yes, for £30 it's excellent kit. . |
I really envy you guys with fancy brand name backpacks. I could only
afford a generic backpack for £5.99. :( Does its job, though. :D |
I must admit,
I'm a bit peeved :( as it came highly recommended by the lads in work who all ride different bikes. 3 of which have em. But looking at all the responses, it looks like a common fault, either the stitching or the fabric itself going the way it does  Anyway, found the receipt, and will be sending it back tomorrow, I'll keep you posted how it goes. But as jonboy said, for 30 quid, I would deffo buy another, they're good bags, maybe the patent part needs looking at  Keep yers posted BTW: Yeah it looks like a common problem, mine has ripped / teared in-between the shoulder straps, at the very top of the bag, by the top handle - really odd! My colleague at work had exactly the same issue, he showed me today... was yours on the newer design, as my older design has not had any problems at all?
Cheers Ruk |

Yeah mate, the newer design, in fact I ordered it, and waited ages for it to arrive, as they were changing the design of it at the time, so I had a brand new one with the red outlined trim. Nice to know the new designs a good one  |
just looking at my old designed one and 'THAT' panel of webbing at the top on mine is a much tighter weave than the one on my colleagues 'new and improved' design, I just think it's a weaker material on the new one.
Seems like Knox have made a design blunder! |
"Everyone knows cows can't ride bikes"
Lovin the Blue Cow avatar mate. :P |
