Any one fancy some stainless brake pad retaining pins?

Just a thought after fiddling with the brakes the other day, I may make a pair of stainless pad retaining pins to prevent the corroded in pin problems. While I'm at it, would you lot be interested in a pair?(for beer money sort of price!)

Yes, definitely.

Aye!

Will it stop the corrosion problems though???

What are the OEM ones made of?

Will they have a little hex on the end to get a socket on?

If I can think of any other questions I will let you know

Yeah I think I'd be interested!

No ta. Got longer pins and drilled the blind hole out :D

Sounds like a cunning plan!
I'd be up for it.

Having one seized pin and the pads requiring replacement shortly I would definitely be interested

Well the pins won't corrode, I spose being pessimistic the caliper could still fur up in the blind hole but it wouldn't grip it like rust and a spot of coppaslip in there would fix it for def. The standard one's are just mild steel with the thinnest bit of plating? when new. My 4k bike had both pins well rusted and ****y looking. No hex req'd on end as they won't seize in  it would be tres expensive/time consuming to machine a hex on, a flat would be sufficient at most IMHO ofcourse.
