Air filter help needed and tune up?
 

Hi guys can anyone recommend a performance air filter and I know I have to get the ecu re mapped to counter for fuel scheduling adjustments. Do any of you know a good place where I can get this done. Somewhere in the south? I have already fitted a race can and I have an sv650s K4

Yes you do have to if you have modifed the air intake and the exhaust. The ecu can only adjust fuel scheduling by about 10%. This is not enough for those changes and the engine will run lean.

So am i right in understanding that if you de-snorkle the bike you also have to get it remapped?

Yeah pretty much!

Mines running rich in 3 spots after changing the exhaust. Spoke to the guys that did the dyno and they said no damage should occur from this, just backfires when rolling off. If it goes lean though, then yes, damages will happen sooner or later.

This reminds me - must get the remap booked in. I keep "shooting" old dears!!

Have only been out once with it on - it was easier to duck down out of the wind completely if you wanted, without having your head right on the tank - sitting normally, the wind is directed more on the shoulders than the chest.

It seemed a bit noiser than normal (suggesting more air being directed around my head although that was probably more to do with the fact that I forgot my earplugs :roll:

Actually not at all- the FI in an SV doesn't have a feedback system and will not adjust itself at all to take into account changes of setup.

This I'm not so sure about- on SV Rider and SoCal SV it's seen as a given that no direct-replacement filter by itself does anything for the injected SVs... But like I say, I don't know myself obviously
