YAIT - Yet Another Insurance Thread

I've got my requote through from CIA insurance.

With three year no claims I'd have expected my insurance to have gone down. For third party only they want £450. It was £301 until I told them about the three points. *uck that!

I'm 21 and looking for something more realistic otherwise the bike is going. Anyone under similar circumstances and getting a good deal?

Incidently I'm looking for a TMAX and the insurance is £350. Still way too high.

Andy.

£450 3PFT for a 21 year old with points on his licence... sounds pretty reasonable to me!

It's part of being young and having points on your licence... you'll grow out of it ;)

Only advice I can give is keep looking around. I got a good quote from BikeTeam. Link on the mainsite and discount to if I remember correctly.

Try motorcycle direct, i've just insured my SV650 through them, it's my first bike, i've got three points and a car accident claim which was a 50/50 fault and they charged me £300 TPFT. The bike is garaged and has a datatool.

BillyC ... I know but its third party ONLY (no fire and theft) and 3yr no claims. £450 is stupid!

£450 + maintenance + fuel + £65 tax -v- £250 bus pass ....

It's your decision mate. I am sure no-one here will try to convince you one way or t'other.

But I HATE buses :x

£550 tpft for me, 23 y/o, 2 year NCB, no convictions, no claims/accidents for a 2000 650S stored off the road.

Think yourself relatively lucky, I have to pay about £800 for my FC insurance which is required by the finance company.

Carsick 15-02-05 02:14 PM

Oh, tp only, hmm, let me get a requote.
Ok, £309, which is ok, but I'd much rather have the theft insurance, personally.

Perhaps I'll forget the 3 points :)
