Yoshi's here!!!!
I may have just wet myself
Yoshimura full system arrived by courier today! tried three local motorbike shops this afternoon to see if they could fit for me but no joy  So technical questions is....can I fit this myself? is it tricky? possible with the SV toolkit plus some extra sockets? Cheers for your help! *goes off to rub exhaust gently and whisper sweet nothings to the downpipe* |

ring around a bit, someone may fit you in, bit late in the day now to do same day

I don't know about doing it with the SV toolkit, but I don't think it's an especially difficult job.

is it a problem that it's got a small metal plate saying "not for road use" riveted to the end of the can?

If you mean is it legal on the road, then no, it isn't. but that doesn't stop most people. |

sorry if i sound stupid! just trying to clarify whether i can get away with putting it on or whether it's going to be too loud.... |
put it this way, It won't pass an MOT, so don't throw your old stuff

AFAIK If you get stopped by the police for having an illegal exhaust the chances are you will get a rectification notice and will then have to have it swapped back and prove to the police you have done this. (You could always then switch it back again). They could impose a fine but not points on your license.
FWIW I travel to Ireland on my bike a lot. I have an ART exhaust with 'Not for Road Use' on it. Going through the ferry ports I always get stopped by the police. Only once have they had a good look at the bike... when I lost my number plate on the way there  and even then they didn't notice the not for Road use. Just take it easy if you see police and don't open the throttle too much. |
