SV650 - worst bike?

According to one of the knowledgeable and informed contributors on visordown, the SV650 isn't very good. Does anyone who posts there care to inform them otherwise?

You can only enjoy an SV if you've never ridden anything better, not.

I've been riding for...a while now, and have owned dozens of bikes, SVs are good, that's all there is to it, they're good bikes.

Mr Couchcommando is a knob, and I mean that most sincerely, everything he says about the SV is plain wrong, his are the sort of comments made by bigger better faster idiots who need big numbers to impress their mates, ignore.

Oh and I can't imagine how you'd find a better advert for not using Visordown, well, most of the other posts would do just as well I suppose.

Bag o' 5h1te, always was, nothing's changed.

Yes, a colleague of mine who rides, regularly criticises it on the grounds that it came fairly low down in Ride's reader awards.

Personally, I love the bike. Doesn't matter to me what the majority of people think- I don't think my personal consumer choices should be based on democracy (and I can't afford/don't want a Blade, yet!)

I agree, but I still read it for the soap opera effect.

This is what I wrote

I have owned all sorts of bikes. 600's 750's. This is the first time I have ever owned a V-Twin and its the most fun I have ever had. I agree that the front suspension is soft, but with new springs and oil, it's fine. All that's needed for the brakes is braided hoses and some sintered pads. I took my naked SV to the south of Spain and back and loved it. You slag off the SV cause of what exactly???? It's a very capable cheap bike, and extreme fun can be had on it. It has loads of bottom end grunt and wheelies are a hoot. No it does not have masses of top end speed. So what. If that's what you want in a bike then shouldn't have bought the SV and maybe done a bit more research before you bought it. It does exactly what it says on the tin. So why bitch about it after you've sold it? You obviously made a mistake. Either that or you have now out grown it, like a lot of riders do. Well that's fair enough but don't whine about it.
