No Drive When In Any Gear

Just had a call from Grinch. He is stuck at the side of the road. His bike is running and he pulls the clutch in and engages a gear, releases the clutch but there is not drive??? He says that this is the same with ALL gears.

Anyone with answers. Gear selector? Clutch?

Chain? Front sprocket?

Sounds gear-box or clutch related to me. He'd know if it were going into gear or not!

Sounds like Bill's right, unless Grouchy has heard some 'orrible grinding noises, I'd suspect external probs, ie; front sprocket nut gone awol, chain broke etc.

Possibly sorted. Thanks Mr Squid for the phone call. Looks like it was indeed the sprocket nut doing a bunk.

Cheers

I'm home now thanks to the help of Mr Recovery man... and I can't see my sprocket nut any where, though there are a few bits in the bottem off my bell pan but I ain't had a good look.
Got to go now and use the wife's duke, and she's in St'Mary's as it looks like little PJ is going to be induced.... argh.. just not what I needed.

Seconded.

My sister ended up being induced last month. It's not as bad as it might sound, from what I've heard.

I would like to point out this was the other way round before anyone say's anything... I just didn't need the extra stress.. :?
I'm on bike 3 now.. as the GT is dead, I'd rather not use the wife's Duke as it all setup for her and I don't like getting it dirty.

and thanks for the good wishes.
