Engine hot, waiting to turn right, nothing coming, blip the throttle, ease out clutch, fuel injection 'coughs' :shock:, engine stalls, down she goes!

Broken: mirror and rear brake lever (£107!)
Scratched: can, belly pan, clutch cover, fairing, end weight, front brake lever and seat hump

Remarkably the indicator survived. Good job I don't have crash-bungs or I'd probably have a cracked cylinder head as well :shock:

Commuting every day, my low-speed skills are highly developed, as is my knowledge of the bike's weight and balance - this simply should not have happened!

I have noticed this little 'cough' before when the engine gets hot and you blip the throttle, so I should've been more careful. Just goes to show that hot Triumphs can catch you out if you take your eye off the ball for a split second.

Totally my fault - the hardest pain to bare. :oops:

Fortunately I had fitted crash bars which now need a lick of paint and a bit of a dremel-polisher job on the handguard.

Im my case it was nasty little right turn out of a lane, probably not in first (who knows what I was in), stall, spits me off. Quite litterally.

glad youre ok though.....

and yes when you do something and its your fault its harder to deal with than something thats not your fault.... learnt that one last week...

but glad no major damage to bike....

Sorry to hear this Howard, not a lot of fun is it. At least you've only got a mildly dented ego and the bike's gained some urban warrior credibility ;) Hope you get it back to pristine condition soon.

And as for Rich, you haven't binned it already? (Mind you I stalled and dropped my SV on the second day I got it :oops: :lol: ) Hope you didn't bruise too much and the GS is not unduly marked, thank goodness you stuck on the crashbars. :(

Scratches are pretty small and look like they can mostly be buffed-out. I dunno - never been too clever with bodywork.

Still, as you say, it's just part of owning a bike I guess. Especially one you ride every day in all sorts of weather.
