Indication of intent.
Is it just me that indicates when I overtake?
The whole weekend I didn't see a single flash from bikes on fast overtakes across the moors. Even on times when I put mine on and flicked a life saver there'd be some sports bike riding muppet passing me to pass a car or slower bike. I realise that because I'm on an SV I have less rights to the road. I just imagined that a lot of those GSXR/CBR/R pilots were BMW drivers during the week and were applying their usual rules..... |
It depends, I'll indicate if there's someone there to indicate to, otherwise no, but then I do look behind me so I know if there's someone there or not.

I find myslef doing it less and less TBH. Althouth I tend too when some leather clad loon  is on my **** and I fancy an overtake.
|
I'll indicate if I think there's a possibility that people haven't worked out what I'm doing.
Will always throw a lifesaver, though, almost had an R1 take me out, the only reason he didn't go into me was because I threw one at the last second. 'mutters about people riding in his blind spot then overtaking too close' |

if your overtaking someone there is ALWAYS someone there, the vehicle you are going to overtake. my policy, if I'm making a legal pass, I signal, if I am passing in a no passing zone, I just squirt past as quick as I can |
IAM says you dont have to indicate on overtakes. i didnt on my test. but i do indicate if i have another biker or something that can keep up with me behind me, just to let them know wat i'm doing.

Always indicate for an overtake in my opinion. Lets the vehicles behind and the vehicle you are about to pass know what you are up to.
Especially important on rideouts. |
Only indicate if I need to tell others of my intention.
Still its better than those countries in the far east where the rules say you must sound your horn whilst overtaking. They would never hear it for my can  |
in de what?

When necessary yes, otherwise no.
