It could be rough!
I'm crossing the channel this weekend with my bike and from the latest shipping forecast there's gales on the way.
Anyway I've never taken my bike on the ferry so assuming the ferries schedule as normal is there anything I should do to/with it on the ferry? So far I'll take a few cloths and my own tie downs should I need them and a cable tie for front brake. |
oh and for anyone who cares : http://www.met-office.gov.uk/datafiles/offshore.html
"DOVER WIGHT PORTLAND PLYMOUTH EAST OR NORTHEAST 5 TO 7, PERHAPS GALE 8 LATER. FAIR. GOOD" |
that's only for the next 24 hours
forecast for the weekend is OK Remember to put your bike in gear to lock teh rear wheel have a good trip - where are you heading :?: |
saturday - besancon
sunday - turin monday - nice :D |
Take the cloths but forget about taking your own tie downs.
If you tie down your bike and it falls over your not covered by their insurance. If they do it you are. Leave the bike in gear and cable tie the front brake if you want as a double measure. Good luck and enjoy the trip. |
you might be right - just re-checked the forecast
I do enjoy a force 8 - just hope the bike doesn't fall over  |
