Motorex Chain Detergent

Just thought that I would pass comment on the above product. My pal José in the bike shop gave me a bag full of goodies a few weeks ago and yesterday I gave this a try.
I normally wipe chain down with a rag well soaked with WD40 and then relube. However I have to say this stuff is absolutely brilliant! It is a simple matter of shaking the can for 30 seconds or so and then apply by spraying via the short straw type nozzle.Leave to simmer for a couple of minutes and then wipe off.
In comparison with my previous method,(which I always felt did a good job) it completely lifted everything off the chain and left it looking brand new. I then applied,(would you believe?) Motul white chain lube leaving it overnight before heading for a lovely hoon today. For the first time it has remained white and without hardly any fling at all!

I'm impressed ok? 8)

It might be a fantastic cleaner but what about the O/X rings?

Good point Jonboy, however the product has been purposefully designed for the modern motorcycle chain. There is a description on the can that mentions it being for both mentioned by your good self. Even a Northern G+t like me would not just charge ahead and use any old thing on a very crucial part of the bikes equipment. 8)

I have just dug the can out and apologies but the product is actually by MOTOREX. And it's called Chain Clean 611. The details on the can read as follows:

Effectively removes encrusted residues. Excellent basis for optimal chain care. X ring and O ring tested.

Hope the above is of use. 8)
