Autosol

What is it? Where can i buy it?

Ive noticed alot of you use this for your frontpipe, and mine is in real need of some cleaning.

Thanks in advance :D

Tesco also do it a fair bit cheaper, just as they do WD40 (£1.87 a large can!).

Bear in mind Solvol Autosol is an abrasive metal polish. It's really good for polishing bare aluminium alloy (having said that certain alloys, especially some diecastings, will not polish to a shiny surface).

It works fine on the downpipes too.

Don't make the mistake of using it on painted surfaces, it'll make a mess of the paint.

If your down-pipe is in a state then you're gonna be scrubbing for a long time... Someone on here did an amazing job with some autosol and a Black & Decker 'mouse' sander with a metal polishing pad on... It looked brand new again :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Thanks for the tip cloggsy.
Ive just been using my B&D mouse to rub down the fibreglass i used to bond some aluminium mesh to my lowers.
I saw in a few post how some of you have meshed the gaps in the bikini and lower fairings so have been planning to do it for a while.

Only the bikini to do now, hopefully be finished tomorrow, will post some pics, see what you all think.

there's a product on the market (available on ebay - surprise surprise!) called Blue Job that is specifically for cleaning your pipes so that may be worth a look.

& just reading your previous post - any hints/ tips for fitting mesh would be much appreciated
