hey...sv650s k3 fiddling...

im new to the site here an i got a few enquiries about my bike...

i just bought a sv650s k3 for £2200 with 4400 miles on it, its got a remus race can on it but it doesnt quite fit right.

can i get a twin exhaust system (one either side, high level) for my bike? i havent seen one any where!

i need to restrict the bike to 33bhp (bike test in august) and ive heard i can buy a ecu just to do this, is it true or does it work in conjunction with washers in the inlets etc.

also would pyramid plastics be the best place to get a hugger/belly pan/single seat conversion? thanks.

jay.

Hello :D

There are twin systems. Have a look through the gallery bit on the main site page and I'm sure you will come across one or two. Must say Ive seen less on pointy ones than I have on curvey ones.

On the K3 the restriction is ECU based. Dealers sell them and give you the relevant paperwork. They should give you your old ECU as well...

The best seat cowl IMO is OEM Suzuki, bellypans are available from various places. The Poly26 one is very nice but you need to get it sprayed. Worth it as its much cheaper.

Huggers are horrid. Dont get one

Dont forget a tail tidy. Hamicad or the one sold on ebay are popular. NWS tail tidy seems a little more of a pain to fit.

Here's a pic of a sorted K3

Anyway, thats very cheap. £2200

I disagree re: fitting a hugger.

The Suzuki hugger fits perfectly as is the colour match and it does what it's meant to.

Best tail tidy is the one sold by Crescent.

get a hugger! only my recomendation of course. not law

didnt pyramid plastics burn down earlier in the year/late last year....?

jaysv650 07-06-05 03:42 PM

beat ya to that one! its got a sort of tail tidy on it, any hoo, i will tell yuo why its £2200....

me and my dad repair bikes, and the sv came in silver, with a smashed fairing, tank, and seat unit, and bent forks.

my dad ended up buying it off the bloke, then sold it to me for what it cost him repaired. whihc was a brand new set of bodywork all from suzuki (surprisingly cheap) new stantions, new tyre and lil bits an pleices. just havent picked up the tank yet.

im only 16 at the mo, hence waiting til aug, hence getting it sorted. but when i went to my dealers, they said they thought they could only get 33bhp ecu's with new bikes??!!

jaysv650 07-06-05 03:47 PM

and wher can i buy these gpr racing exhausts? i gotta have them!

Anonymous 07-06-05 07:28 PM

Hadnt heard that about the ECU's :? Other people must be getting sorted somehow. Where do all the s/h ECU's go? Daz gets de-restricted in a few days maybe PM him.

Honestly tho huggers are the worst looking thing you can stick on a bike. Pointless abominations unless you have a precious undertray to protect IMO. Especially if its to be a dry weather bike. Thats the only thing I have strong views on. Except blue is best and curveys are horrid of course
Huggers.......blahhhhh!!!!!!!!

If your Dad does up bikes then spraying a Poly26 bellypan shouldnt be a problem, especially if you dont go for candy grand blue.
