SV650 versus powerbikes the outcome!!
My hubby and I were racing the SV650's in the minitwins class in France this weekend and Steve decided to enter the Forza Extreme class which is basically now the powerbike class.
Dispite having only 70bhp and the rest of the field having around 100bhp more he finished 14th from the back row of the grid (27 in all) and even kept race leader Jeremy Hill who is on a ZX10R behind him for a lap after he ran into the kitty litter and re joined!. So its not always the power you need!!. |
there are two guys here in Denver who both have SV's that they race in the super twins race just for fun! They race all the other classes too, and win. The sad part for the rest of the racers is, they win the super-twins race on those sv650 with the only mods being, exhaust, tires, and plastics.

When I went to watch the mini-twins at Croft, the Mini-twins were lapping quite a bit faster than the super-twins anyway :!:

Ive moved on to a ZX6r and to be honest the sv is a great a bike and im not going much faster on the zx than i did on the sv

its not suprising really, an aprilia rs 125 in thr right hands will outdo me on an R1.... not that ive got one :)
just saying its about riding skill than bike performance at this level. |
I always remember the proddy racing days when Suzuki X7's (250cc) would be faster than GS1000's and CBX's (1000cc). :notworthy:

Your hubby was awesome at cadwell in the wet mind you, you didn't do to bad either
|
I know it's not easy but it can be harder to use the power on a bigger bike round the bends my SV is as fast if not faster than my TL in corners
I think its cos you can use all those 70 horses safely  Some of my mates have had trouble keeping up round bends and only catch up on the staights :D :D :D |
