Bent radiator..

I picked up my bike today after its been made roadworthy again :)

Good news is that they put my old fairing back on the bike.. which had the smallest of dents known to mankind, but was changed after an insurance job as other bloke was paying for it.. well, they found it in their store room.. and plonked it back on for me
Saving me a cool £170

Bad news is that I noticed that the radiator is.. slightly.. squiff! its been bent back and hit the top of the engine casing, and bent back from there.. but it seems to have sprung back, and you only know its bent when you look at it from one end to the other....
Thing is.. i think its still working at the moment.. so I dont want to potch with it..
BUT it will do my head in knowing its bent!

i will obviously have to drain the bugger.. a chore in itself as I have no idea where to start!

And plant it on a table, while using some wood to attempt to bend it back into shape... but there will still be a large dent in the engine side bottom of the radiator.. plus the brackets are now bent on that as well :?

I have a shed load of work to do on it to get it back to my standards.. but this is one thats got me outta the blue.. as even the mechanics missed it...

I have a feeling that it would cost about £200 (???) to replace..

In the meantime.. I have a bellypan plus paint to order.. and chuck my R&G's on it before I jinx myself yet again! lol

So if anyone has had any luck in putting their radiators back to shape.. please give me some tips!

Cheers!

Rads are dear, and fragile.

I'd be very cautious about trying to bend it back, it's made of a very soft zinc alloy, bending any significant amount once is enough, I'd be wary about trying for twice.
