How brittle are those brackets for the gear lever!!!

I just tapped the low brick wall outside my house with the footpeg, and snapped the footpeg/gearlever bracket straight off. Couldnt believe it, didnt realise they are cast metal, how crap is that!!!!!

I know this shouldnt be posted here but me desperate as i have no mode of transport now, if you have one lyin round the garage, e.g. you replaced the whole unit when replacing the gear lever, or your braking a bike, i will buy it as the whole unit or just the bracket i dont mind, Just need the bracket, PM or email me at strycharczuk@hotmail.com

Just be thankful that the footrest hangers break before the frame does, it might be annoying but it's way cheaper and easier than a new/repaired frame.

Suppose so!!! But annoying how it was just slight tap and the whole bloody unit snapped off, argh
