What floats your boat?..(the channel)...Ferry Funny
Just wondered what the feeling was on the ferry front. (UK-France).

yup
takes about 25 mins. |
How much is it on Eurotunnel for the bike?
Hate ferries meself. :x Martin |
Just looked it up it varies depending on the time of day.
It quoted £86 for the times i wanted to travel return. £26 more than the ferry for the same period. |
presume you're talking Dover(Folkestone)/Calais only?
If cost is no issue, Eurotunnel is tops for convenience, no need to go all the way to Dover, 35mins crossing, stand with the bike, job done. For ferries, I usually use P&O, I have shares and get discount although very often the public fares are better! Always phone for booking, the on-line quotes you get are pure fantasy. I often go Dover/Calais then back Le Havre/Portsmouth with P&O, in June I did a 10day return like this for £68. Norfolk Line are usually cheaper, but a friend of mine has twice been stuck when a crossing was cancelled which then messed up all the onward travel/hotel plans, so you take your chances. I've heard decent talk of Sea France though never used them personally. |
Yeah i was referring to Dover/Folkstone - Calais/Dunquerke
I've only been with P&O they were pretty good. I might try ringing them tomorrow for a realistic quote then :) Sounds like you got a good deal for a 10day excursion. |
I went with speed ferries. £60 return.

P&O 'cos my brother works for them and once he has been there a year I'll get cheaper trips as a family member :)
