Before anyone else sees this and posts it. The biker mentioned here was Dave, a good and long standing friend of our very own Chutz, and I'm sure I don't speak out of turn when I say I considered him a friend as well, and I know others on here - Tim and Helen knew him at least as well as I did.

Condolances to family and friends :(

Jesus, not a lot you can say really, such a dreadful shame. As said already condolences to all who knew him.

Dying comes to all of us and I suppose that at least this way he was doing something he loved and it was hopefully instantaneous and not something like the big C.

Really sorry to see this, my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Poor Dave :(

A road he would have known intimately well, riding a bike that he was completely qualified to control. Lots of questions running through my head.

Maybe too comfortable? Like when they say accidents are likely to happen more often within 1 mile of your home or something? Does make you think :(

If there were no other parties involved there should be an investigation, would be nice i'm sure for family and friends to find out what happenned or at least get an idea......

Was wondering how often this kind of thing can happen

Just made me think of Kevins accident, similar circumstances :(

This is very sad indeed.

I only met Dave once, but knew him well by reputation, which he more than lived up to. By all accounts he was a thoroughly decent, selfless bloke who people always spoke fondly of. He'll be missed by several folk on this forum and my thoughts go out to his friends and family.

The last time I saw him - strangely enough for a pair of bikers - I was following him and we were driving our respective cars. He waved me off at Marks Cross and unfortunately our paths weren't to cross again in this life.

I understand that he was a very experienced rider and the proud owner of a brand new CB1300, which he was riding this morning. I guess that's a good way to go, but a terrible shame it was so soon.
