'O' ring - Cruise control
 

Hi All,

Bought a "Crampbuster" from scottoilr during the week, 2 seconds to fit it, job done!
But my arl mucka Nagai recjkons you can get an O ring to fit around the throttle or something :? that will act as a "Cruise Control".
But he said to ask you lot as it needs to be the correct size?

Any ideas?

In theory you need the o ring to act as a friction clutch for the throttle but as has been previously said, this seems a dangerous thing to do to me :(

i have seen something like this before but anything that holds the twist grip open for you aint good.

First time I've heard of the crampbuster - didn't realise it was made by scottoiler but I've seen them about on bikes. Does it make a big difference? I only do about 30 mins of A road cruising on my commute and my hand definitely suffers more in the winter. How does it work - I assume you just rest your wrist/hand on the lever bit to keep the speed?

Hmmm... yep - that's what i thought about the O ring. Bit dangerous.
Anyhow the crampubuster, surely does help.
I do about 3hrs riding a day, and it definately helps, specially at low speeds, as you can move your fingers enough for the circulation to come back.
Yep - i wil be definately staying away from the O ring :thumbsup:

I don't get on with the crampbuster, personally. It's great for the boring constant throttle bits, but I forget about it when I come into town then almost ram whoever stops in front of me as I shift my grip to brake.

Yep I know exactly what you mean :shock: Done that quite a few times so far., and actually my glove got caught on it as well :? :shock: :shock: Brown trouser moment!

What a joke! I can not believe this is legal!! You guys are nuts for using these things as you have already demonstrated, they are bloody dangerous. Do yourelf a favour and bin 'em!
