SV big enough for me? I'm 6'3"
Hi, been around these parts for a while now. I am just about to do my DAS and am looking at a new bike for when I've passed. I love the look of the SV and it seems to be very highly regarded for newbie riders.
I am worried that I'm going to be too big for the bike though. Im 6'3" (14.5 stone). Are there any tall riders here that have problems with the size (especially knees around the tank area, my legs are like daddy long legs!). I've ridden only 125cc bikes in the past, mainly trial style (DT125 etc) and never ridden a sports type bike. My local dealer do not have a demonstrator of the SV either. So how many of you guys are tall ad have no probs riding this beauty?! Thanks. |
I'm 6' and there are others taller than me who ride SVs. I don't have any problems with the height on short trips and if I'm blatting about through twisty bits, I'm fine, even on longer journies. Motorways and stuff like that I get uncomfortable because I don't move my legs about as much.

Hi there mate - i`m 6` 6" and 16 stone and i havent had any probs on the Sv. Wrists can hurt a little with the weight forward across onto the bars ( but have broken both wrists previously so that may be the cause of that- lol ).
I probably look a little stooopid on any bike - but i`m really happy with the choice i made - cracking bike, handles V well and goes plenty fast enough. |
I'm 6'3'' and 14 stone. No problems over the 4200 I've covered since my DAS at the beginning of May.

I'm 6'2" and just under 15st. And My naked SV is totally standard and fits much better than some other bikes I have had.
I have long legs, and the leg position is fine too, my legs tuck in nicely into the side of the tank. And I have never had wrists hurting, only a bit of a sore ass after about 60-70 miles, but everybody gets that. |

I'm just shy of 6' 6" and 90 kg (kg not stone  )
My only problem is a sore butt after 150 km or 1,5 hours of riding. But I never go much longer than that anyway. BTW, mine's a pointy one. I'm told the curvy is slightly smaller. |
I'm 6'3" and i'd say that the SV is too small but not to the extent of painful and unridable. It is a brilliant bike to learn on :)

6'2" and 11.5 stone, not generally a problem comfort wise.
