Will my Japan model SV1000S pass UK SVA test?
I am importing my 04 SV1000s to the UK from Japan when I return there. Does anyone know if the Japan model will pass the motorcycle SVA emmission test as it doesn:t have a catalytic converter? Has anyone had an SVA done on their SV or knows of companies that can do the convertions needed?

With no personal knowledge myself, I would suggest that you contact either
Bandit & SV Mania - www.banditmania.co.uk or JHS Racing - www.jhsracing.co.uk Both of these are dealers / tuning / parts specialists for the SV range & could probably help you out, or if not point you in the right direction. :D |
Try this link for somewhere to start,
especially page 9 http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/group...ads_507609.pdf Suzuki Owners Club have various topics on this subject too. DFT (SVA) do not list motorcycles in the report list for some reason and the Japanese import SVA site is being updated. It looks like a quite involved procedure and it would surprise me if it was a cheaper option :? An idea has just sprung to mind, try contacting Padgetts Motorcycles in Batley as they are the sole HRC dealer in Britain, they also sell Suzukis, and probably have some idea what is involved to import a bike. |
