Rivets
One of the rivets have come loose on my Viper and fallen in the casing...
All the rivets on the slip on end have actually become so loose the end swivals round slightly...and some of the exhaust gases are leaking on to my swinging arm and causing black marks. Anyone know what I can do apart from get a rivetting tool? ?? Help... please. |
Other than get a rivetter?
No. Get a a riveting tool, and steel rivets, don't use aluminium they'll disappear in minutes. |
know how much a riviting tool is ? from B&Q???
they are the tineyest rivets! |
i got a rivet gun and loads of rivets from lidl for a 5r so b+q will b about the same ,maybe a wee bit more ,10r tops???

Any rivetter that costs a fiver will have loads of aluminium rivets with it.
You need steel, aluminium won't last any time at all. |
ive found a hand riviter in my local handyman shop. its £13 with 60 rivetsall small sizes around the right size.
is it as simple as drill out and use the gun kinda like a wall stapler?? if it is then it looks like il be buying a riveter tonight! |
there is also stainless rivits need a preety good riviter though
|
Also you would need to check for the type of rivet you are using as you can get rivets where the centre stem falls out once rivetted in place leaving a hole through the middle of the rivet #-o , so you need to get the ones where the centre stem seals the middle, thus stopping the exhaust gases escaping.
