Hi,
1)Yes I did. 2) If you want to see"golf balls" better than them have a ride along A59 to Menwith Hill. |

I read on one page that Raf Menwith Hill is technically a U.S base  ..........im not gonna get shot or anything am I? |
Fylingdales:
Hi,
You should be O/K as long has you do not look like a terrorist and you are not in Yorkshire on an expired visa  |
there is another great big one on top of a hill in cumbria called Great Dun Fell
http://www.visitcumbria.com/pen/greatdunfell.htm well high  in fact the highest road in the country if i remember correctly. |
Oh yes i remember them well. Hubbys grandad was one of the workers who bulit them. Apparentley the day they were swithced on they were 20years out of date from a thechno point of view. Funny thing is when you grow up seeing a landmark like these, you (or rather me ) still look for then every time i come back home.
|
you can see then from the main road going to harrogate i think it is........a59 maybee... sure some one will tell you....
my wife runs in the great north run every year and we went past last year and they are there still |

Menwith is approx 10 miles out of Harrogate on the A59, you can ride around the perimeter and there are some good views. If you stop too long the police will probably have a word with you though :!:
