Boots
Hello all.
I recently got my first proper bike (and license) so i haven't managed to get all the gears i want / need yet. As i rode in to work today, stopping at a red light, i got my shoelace caught in the gear when i put me foot back on the pegs. Now this gave me a bit of a scare, so i think i need to go and buy my self a pair of proper riding boots. The problem is, i spent all my mony on my sv650s, so i need to find a decent cheap pair. Can anyone recommend a place in london (i only know of hein gericke, which is quite good i think) that does good biker boots that aren't to expensive? |
Proper boots are vital and you won't get better value than HG - expect to pay around £100.
If you go elsewhere you're likely to pay a lot more and unless you've really researched boots and their manufacturers you're likely to buy something you regret later. I've got a pair of Frank Thomas boots, which though comfortable and warm, contrary to their blurb, are not waterproof, so I wouldn't buy them again. My next pair are likely to be either HG or Alpine Stars. . |

Mail order hand made boots, bullet proof for sod all money. Took mine on the BMW off road course, fell on them more times then was sensible, never so much as a broken toe nail and waterproof thru the lake. Comfy, and bloody good value oh and won the Ride rider power thing last year |
ebays always a good place to start..

Thank you |
Thanks for all the replies!
Lots of replies and quick!
Thank you all! eBay sounds like a place as well. It's quite hard since im completly new to bikes and don't really know what you should get and so on, so thanks for all the ideas. I saw quite a few pair of cool boots, hard to decide. But i suppoes waterproff is a good idea. Thanks again everyone! |
gerickes own brand are excellent, otherwise Akito boots at J&S are ok for th eprice , you can pick up apair for about£35, be careful with e-bay unless youve tried the same type on for fir somewhere else

Wow!
35 quid!
That's quite cheap! Might check that out as well. Found their homepage (if it is this one: http://www.jsaccessories.com/). |
if you could hang on a bit, take a trip to the BMF in peterborough

I got some Sidi Blackrain and they are comfy, have proved waterproof and offer decent protection for 110 quid. Do not buy cheap boots...protect your feet properly so make sure whatever you have offers good protection
I would only buy online if i had tried boots in a shop somewhere |
