SV650 Ignition wont turn to lock after wreck

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem. Bike was laid down on left side at low speed and now when I try to lock the handlebars the key wont turn much past the off position.....? Thanx

Have a quick look at see if something is catching on the tank/frame, could be the left bar's a bit bent. The lock works by sliding a pin into a cutout on the headstock hopefuly its something stopping you turning the bars far enough as opposed to something serious being bent.

Why are you bothered? Can't remember ever using the lock position on my ignition switch.

Mine seized up after a month or so of use (by me), just shove the straw of the WD40 can in it and give it a good spray, Put key in and waggle for a bit (don't force it or it may break  ) repeat until it goes round or you get bored. mine took 2 or 3 goes to get it round.

Good luck

Basically, the ignition lock is a bolt-style lock- the bolt sticks out of the ignition and into the frame. There's not a lot of clearance there, so there's aa few things that could prevent it from working. There could be something physically blocking it- something in the hole.

What I'd suspect though is a bit of a bend or misalignment in your yokes meaning that the hole and bolt aren't lining up.
