Difference between UK & Euro headlights

I`ve just bought a headlight unit off ebay which I was assured was the UK version, but has a different lens and bulb on the left side. I guess this means it`s the Euro version.

On my old unit (trashed in a crash) both bulbs were the same, but on this new one the left side bulb is different, so the old plug to connect the bulb will no longer fit it.

So I now have UK style wiring and plugs and a Euro headlight. I can put one of my old Osram Silver Star bulbs in the left hand side and it will work as it used to, but what should I do with the left side?

So can anyone tell me what the story is - any advantages to the Euro version? How should I wire up the different bulb? Any recommended mods? Can I make it so both lights are on at once? etc.

Or should I just send it back as being mis-sold and start searching e-bay again for a proper UK one!

send it back as it is the wrong one, one bulb is H4 the other is H7 (projector style).

UK spec is H4 on both sides.

There are no advantages apart from riding in europe. Ive got an imported bike with euro headlights. They point the wrong way which also means it wont pass an mot (mine is due its first mot soon). Send it back and get yourself a uk spec one.
