R&G bungs on the new K5's
 

Have R&G changed the design again of the brackets for the crash bungs on the SV?

On my k3 the bungs are above the lower fairing and the brackets are visable, while on black K5 (parked in the bike bay off Finsbury Street) I cant see the bracket, and the bungs are located in the mounting brackets of the lower fairing.

just wondering if its changed, because the pics from R&G clearly show that mine are fitted correctly, but I'm now starting to doubt it.

I think R&G had to change the design for the SV anyway - because the originals just weren't reliable, often popping off when they were required, and resulting in obvious damage - damage that the bungs should have prevented.

its just that the mountian brackets look so similar, I'm wondering if mine are wrong.

For the K5 650 the R&G brackets are completely hidden by the lower fairing. They still use a bolt through the engine plus one more bolt to hold a bridge type structure to the bike. The plastic bung bit itself then mounts outside the fairing to the middle of this new bracket through the big hole in the fairing.
