what does 4 beeps when switching on mean?

I'm having trouble starting by K3 which I suspect is a dying battery judging by the dim headlights and the fact the starter doesn't seem to work no more. Anyway, when I switch on I got 4 beeps, is this just telling me that the battery is flat or is there some other problem?

K3's can't beep.

Suspect you need to read your alarm's manual - as that's probably the only thing that can beep at you!

Generally, if you have a system 3 alarm, 3 or 4 beeps mean that the alarm has been triggered. This is often noticible if you put it into "service mode". (switching the alarm on with the ignition on).

To reset, disarm the alarm, turn your ignition on then off, and let the alarm arm itself. The alarm should now have reset itself.

Might be the alarm warning you of the low battery condition... some alarms will lock you out if the battery loses power and then to be re-set once there's a new battery. Guy at work has that on his spyball alarm now and then.
