Bike kept stalling this morning
Morning guys
Travelling to work this morning, every time I stopped the engine died. No problem starting the bike 1st time and bike also fired up no problem after bike stalled. Would this be down to the cold weather? Or is it something more sinister? Cheers Mitch |
Is it a carbed bike?
Mine runs like a pig in weather like this. I put it down to carb icing. This time of year I usually start to add silkolene pro FST to the fuel. Was bl**dy cold this morning though, I've only just got the feeling back in my hands! Welcome to the site BTW :D |
Cheers Dude
Thanks for the welcome. Not sure if its a carbed one or not, I'm new to all this. Its a K2 model if thats any help. Twas a bit chilly round the old cobblers :D |
welcome :D
k2 is a carbed bike. the newer, pointy shaped ones (K3 +) are fuel injected. as a thought, maybe you need to adjust the idle speed? anything less than 1250 rpm at idle and the bike seems to have a habit of cutting out imo. are you using heated grips? |
Could also be a sticky choke cable, the only way to solve that is a new cable.

Thanks for the replys
Up until now bike has been idling at around 1300rpm and i don't use heated grips. I havn't used bike all weekend so maybe just down to the cold. I'll see what its like on the way home. |
Nope. VERY sure its carb icing matie. Get the Pro FST stuff in ya tank.
|
Bike ran fine on journey home, so popped into bike shop on way home and bought some FST. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
